d.i.y turband bought to you by the man repeller

As a self-proclaimed expert in the field of man repelling, I thought it useful to start including photo-heavy tutorials that will document the exciting prospect of DIYing your very own sartorial cock blocks.

Yeah, so turband. DIY.

Before we start I'll just say, this DIY took place in the comfort of my own bedroom. In real life, people don't DIY while overlooking the High Line and wearing sequined mini dresses and cat eye sunnies. I'm trying to bring an element of realness to your computer screen. NOW...

Step 1: Locate a square scarf. I stole mine from my mom. She is fancy so it is Hermes.
Step 2: Take opposite corners from said scarf and fold them together. This should leave you with a triangle shaped piece o'fabric. If you want, you can tie it around your head and pretend you're a female extra in Fiddler on The Roof. "Match maker, match maker make me a match. Find me a find, catch me a catch." Anyone? Anyone? K, bye.
Step 3: Keep folding.

Step 4: Tie the folded scarf around your head and pretend you're a ninja. This is also an optional step though highly recommended.

Step 5: Tie the folded scarf around your head so that you have bunny ears. Knot it once.
Step 6: Knot it again and start laughing because you're only two steps away from anti-mating!
Step 7: Take the bunny ears you've created and bring them toward the back of your head. Knot again.

Step 8: Put on patent leather booties, pose like a douche bag and voila, male genital deterring continues.

floral days and arabian nights

i love playing around with my outfits as the seasons change, so much newness to try! and speaking of something to try i thought i would pop up a quick 'how to' on how to make your very own turband's china-dolls!

okay so you will need a a square scarf, two hands and a head . . actually, you know what? i'm rubbish at instructions, i shall hand this task over to one of my absolute fave bloggers, Leandra Medine or as she awesomely goes by . . The Man Repeller, if you haven't checked her out you have to, she is the bee's knee's here is a link to her blog

rodarte x opening ceremony

so china-dolls, i love rodarte and i love opening ceremony, but to be honest i just didn't love this collaboration . . . initially

now i just can't stop looking at it! the gorgeous floral kimono/cape dress, the beautifully tailored pants the cropping, the leather tee! ahhh perfection.

my only let down was the lack of kick ass shoes i thought would accompany for obvious reasons, but detracting from the clothes and all that i suppose . . any thoughts, favourites or hate-ourites china-dolls?

sheer joy

today i decided to temporarily shelve my shoes and release my inner hippie with a child's velvet leotard and the ultimate autumn staple, a pleated sheer maxi

underneath i finally got to try out my 'underneath sheer maxi's' high waisted . . well i suppose one would call them bike pants or even bloomers perhaps? either way they are reppin' some serious gold hardware, zippered pockets which i love . .

once my free-love moment had passed i popped back on my darling wee brown loafers i picked up for just $1 at the famed 'St John's Opportunity Shop'

took a snazzy wee shot of them in the mirror

added the tried and true tan leather 'must carry all my useless shit . . ' bag

and finished it up with a pair of sweet vintage raybans (with an awkwardly surprised look on my face) - kindly on loan from one miss lyndsay senior . . keepin' it sheer - desperately clutching to the last whispers of summer
